THE COURSE-
The 2011 Baltimore Grand Prix^® 5K will run the same streets that the IndyCar Series will run on later that weekend.  The route will run the serpentine oval covering Pratt St, Light St, Conway St, Lee St, and Russell St. in the Inner Harbor section of Baltimore.  The 5K course will cover approximately 1 1/2 loops of the track.  NOTE:  Due to logistical issues surrounding this event, we are unable to perform the full certification process.  Therefore, the course WILL NOT be USATF certified.  We have done our best to make the course 3.1 miles but slight variation in distance may occur.  Course Map

THE EVENT-
The 2011 Grand Prix 5K will feature many auto race-themed activities that will help to kick off the Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix.

• Special Twilight Start time- 7pm Race Start
• The race will start with the famous "Ladies & Gentleman Start Your Engines" call
• Race Bibs designed to look like race cars
• Each Runner will be greeted at the finishline by the waving checkered flag
• Time Limited to 45 Minutes (15 min/mile pace) as sunset is at 7:38pm

THE AMENTIES- Each runner will have access to the following:

• Each registered runner will receive a race premium emblazoned with the event logo. See Below for details
• On the course, runners will be serviced by one water stop.
• Following the race, runners will receive one bottled water and a snack bar.
• Your race entry fee includes a General Admission ticket to Friday’s Baltimore Grand Prix race. These tickets will be mailed prior to race day and are REQUIRED for entry.  Planned Grand Prix activites for that day include live music, family activities, and more.  Please visit www.BaltimoreGrandPrix.com for more information.

TIMING- The event will be chip timed using the latest B-Tag timing technology

PACKET PICK UP-  All pre-registered runners will receive a complementary Grand Prix admission ticket in the mail prior to Friday's race day.  This ticket will grant you access into the paddock area where the 5k check in will be located. Once inside, you will check in and pick up your race bib and event shirt.

Packet pick up will be held inside the race compound throughout the day of Friday from 2p to 6p.  We will be locted near the intersection of Sharp St. and Conway St.  We encourage all particpants to come down early, pick up your race materials and enjoy some of the race day activities prior to the 5K that evening.

Runners WILL NOT be admitted into the Grand Prix race area without a ticket.  (Spectators will also need a ticket which can be purchased here. 

NOTE:  If you already have a Friday Grand Prix tickets, you are free to use your complementary Grand Prix ticket for 5K access to invite another friend or family along with you.  No refunds or discounts will be awarded in this case. 

AWARDS- Race-Themed Ribbons will be awarded to the Top 3 Male & Female Overall Champions as well as to the Top Male & Female Masters Champion. Age Group awards will be issued to the top finisher in each of the following age groups: 14 & U, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60+. There is no duplication of prizes.

RACE PREMIUM-
For the 2011 Grand Prix foot race, runners will receive a wash and wear T-shirt in the shape of a race car(pictured). The tee will be 100% cotton and is printed on both front and back. A size chart is provided for participants. Exchanges will not be made for this event, no exceptions. Women’s shirts will be Hanes, and men’s shirts Fruit of the Loom (size chart provided below.)
