The New Balance All-America is excited to announce that, for the first time, video submissions will be accepted as an official evaluation pathway for players seeking selection to a New Balance All-America Regional Team. This addition reflects the program’s continued commitment to evolving with the changing landscape of lacrosse while maintaining the integrity and prestige of the All-America selection process.
While the in-person tryout remains the primary and most impactful method of evaluation, video submissions will serve as a supplementary option for athletes who may be unable to attend a live tryout. Regional coaching staffs may select up to four players from the video-evaluation pool, with the remaining 20 roster positions filled exclusively through the in-person tryout, with no exceptions. There is no minimum requirement for video selections, and in some instances, all 24 roster spots may be determined solely from the live tryout.
Players evaluated through video submission will be selected based on a combined assessment from Inside Lacrosse and the Regional Coaching Staff’s review of full, unedited game film. Video submissions are intended to complement the live evaluation process and ensure that deserving athletes are given appropriate consideration when circumstances prevent in-person attendance.
All athletes who submit video will be eligible for selection to a New Balance All-America Regional Team and will receive an All-American T-shirt, along with a comprehensive Inside Lacrosse evaluation. Each evaluation includes specific time-stamped feedback, direct observations, and recommendations focused on continued development and preparation for the college level. Players may choose to display their evaluation score publicly on their recruiting profile, a practice commonly used by many of the nation’s top collegiate players throughout their high school careers.
Video submissions must be received no later than three weeks prior to the scheduled tryout. Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. Players who miss the registration deadline for their preferred region may submit video for another region, provided that region’s three-week submission deadline has not passed and the player is willing to compete for that region. Athletes who do not attend an in-person tryout must submit video by the stated deadline in order to be considered for team selection.
A maximum of one goalie and one faceoff specialist may be selected via video submission, and no more than four total players may be chosen from the video-evaluation pool. Video submission participants are also eligible to be named alternates should a selected player be unable to participate in the main event.
