Corrigan Sports Enterprises Welcomes Celtic Solstice Into The Family

Baltimore, MD – June 22, 2022- Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE), Jim Adams and Karen Menge announce that Baltimore staple, the Celtic Solstice Five-Miler will be now under CSE management.

The Celtic Solstice, a staple in the Baltimore endurance community now entering its 23rd year of existence has always marked the end of each year’s local running calendar.  The event features a Gaelic theme that has been very popular within the community.  For 22 years, Jim Adams has overseen the event and built the fun traditions surrounding it.  From the great runner premium to Irish wolf hounds leading the parade to the start, to the Scots Irish music at the end, the event has always had a celebratory theme.

“We are excited to continue the traditions that Jim and Karen built and deliver a great end of the year endurance event for Baltimore.  Jim Adams himself has been an institution in the Baltimore Running Community and we are proud to carry-on his legacy that will live on through the Celtic Solstice.”  Said Lee Corrigan, the President of Corrigan Sports Enterprises.

For decades the race has featured several scenic five-mile pathways through Druid Hill Park depending on various constructions projects. This year’s event is scheduled for December 17th.  This year’s race will start and end near the Maryland Zoo.

Jim Adams, the events creator, and Race Director stated “After we moved to California for Karen’s career, the race has become progressively more difficult to coordinate at the level of festivity and enjoyment we wanted for the participants and volunteers. We are pleased that CSE has agreed to do the heavy lifting on the administration and logistics while keeping us involved on the operations side”

To ensure a smooth transition, Jim Adams and Karen Menge will serve as Race Directors Emeritus and will be working closely with CSE on the events thematic approach and help keep key partners involved with the event.

Corrigan Sports is committed to continuing the traditions and culture that define the Celtic Solstice, taking the elements of past renditions and adding some new twists that will fit into the theme and make the event fun and enjoyable for all.

Registration will open June 28, 2022. Learn more at www.celticsolstice.com
