BALTIMORE, MD. – Corrigan Sports and Hearst Baltimore have extended their exclusive media partnership for the Baltimore Running Festival through 2030, continuing a collaboration that has helped grow one of the nation’s premier running festivals for more than 25 years.
Since the inaugural Baltimore Running Festival, WBAL-TV 11, WBAL NewsRadio and 98 Rock have served as the event’s exclusive media partners, bringing race weekend to life through live television, radio, streaming and digital coverage. Together, they have showcased not only elite competition, but also the first-time finishers, volunteers, charities and community partners whose stories have become synonymous with one of Baltimore’s signature annual events.
Each year, the partnership delivers five hours of live television and radio coverage, along with live streaming on Very Local and comprehensive digital reporting that captures the excitement, perseverance and community spirit surrounding race weekend.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have WBAL-TV 11, WBAL NewsRadio and 98 Rock as longstanding partners of the Baltimore Running Festival,” said Corrigan Sports President Lee Corrigan. “Their commitment extends far beyond race day. In addition to delivering five hours of exceptional live television and radio coverage—along with live streaming on Very Local—WBAL-TV 11 shines a spotlight on the inspiring charity initiatives and community stories that define this event.”
Now entering its next chapter, the Baltimore Running Festival continues to stand among the region’s signature sporting events, welcoming participants of all abilities from across the country to experience Charm City’s iconic neighborhoods and landmarks.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Corrigan Sports as the official media partner of the Baltimore Running Festival,” said Dan Joerres, President and General Manager of WBAL-TV 11, WBAL NewsRadio and 98 Rock. “For 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of telling the stories that make this event special—from elite competitors chasing records to neighbors accomplishing lifelong goals. We look forward to continuing to bring those unforgettable moments to viewers, listeners and digital audiences across Baltimore and beyond.”
From the Marathon and Half Marathon to the 10K and 5K, the Baltimore Running Festival offers an unforgettable experience for participants of every ability. Beyond generating millions of dollars in annual economic impact for the city, the festival has raised more than $20 million for local charities since its inception.
